School of Aeronautics was established in 1992. Located in Delhi, the institute is managed and run by Laxmi Narain Verma Memorial Society. It is the first institute in Delhi and second in the country, which has the approval of Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Initially, School of Aeronautics offered undergraduate course in Aeronautical Maintenance Engineering (AME), which is equivalent to B.E. Aeronautics, through correspondence. Later on, in 2001, the institute started it as a regular programme. School of Aeronautics provides a number of modern facilities to its students.

The aspirants must have passed in Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2) with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, from any recognized Board. Candidates, who have done three year diploma in engineering with at least 50% marks or who have possessed Bachelors degree in science with PCM, are eligible to apply for this course.
