S.K. Acharya Institute of Law, which is also known as Snehangshu Kanta Acharya Institute of Law, came into existence in 2004. It is managed and run by Sikkim Bengal Educational Trust (SBET). Affiliated to University Of Kalyani, the educational institution is approved by Bar Council of India (BCI), Government of India, New Delhi. S.K. Acharya Institute of Law is also recognized by the West Bengal Council for Higher Education, Government of West Bengal.
Snehangshu Kanta Acharya Institute of Law aims to provide legal education among the young aspirants, who want to become proficient lawyers. The law institute conducts undergraduate and postgraduate course in legal education. At the UG level, it imparts B.A.LL.B (Hons.), a five-year program while at the PG level, it offers Master of Laws (LLM), which is a two-year full time course. S.K. Acharya Institute of Law provides basic amenities to make sure all round development of its students.

To be eligible, one has to pass in LLB degree examination with minimum 50% marks in any stream, from any recognized University.

Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with not less than 40% marks (35% for SC/ST), from any recognized state/national Board.

Integrated:
Candidates are short listed on the basis of an admission test, which is conducted by the university. Those, having scored the required marks are then called for counseling.
