Indraprastha (IP) College for Women popularly known as IP College is affiliated to University of Delhi (Delhi University or DU). The college found its recognized status by DU, in 1924. Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce and some vocational courses as well are offered here. Indraprastha College for Women has a prestigious and a most sought after status among girl students, who want to pursue career oriented courses like Mass Communication. The college is located 3 km away from the Delhi University Vice Chancellor's office. IP College for Women has a serene environment, with all amiable facilities for students. Since 2002, Indraprastha College has been marked as the Heritage Building by the Government of Delhi.
Indraprastha College for Women began its journey as Indraprastha Girls School that was established in 1904, in Chhipiwara in the old city of Delhi, by a group of theosophists, under the leadership of Lala Jugal Kishore. Very soon, it turned to Indraprastha College in 1924. There was the great ambition to liberate Indian women from some restrictive social customs with providing them higher education. Intermediate classes and Degree courses were introduced in 1924 and 1930’s, respectively.

For the admission in undergraduate courses, a senior secondary examination (class XII) pass candidate is eligible. The board should e recognized by the University of Delhi.
B.Sc (Honours)
A senior secondary examination (class XII) pass candidate, with Science, is eligible to apply.
For B.M.M.M.C.
Only girl student with 55% aggregate marks in 10+2 examination is eligible.
