Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in Delhi in 1963, by the Government of India. It is a premier management institute of the country, specializing in international trade. IIFT is an autonomous and has been given the Deemed University status, in order to help professionalize the country's foreign trade management and increase exports, by developing human resources. Ever since its inception, IIFT has performed contributive research studies with organizations like WTO, World Bank, UNCTAD and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade has trained more than 40,000 business professionals across 30 countries, in various forms of international business and trade policy, through its management development programs. IIFT Delhi has collaborations with lots of foreign institutes, which includes Ajou University, Suwon (Korea), Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute, Dhaka (Bangladesh), Brock University, St. Catharine’s, Ontario (Canada) etc.
