Located at Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, New Delhi, Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education (Visual Impairment) offers undergraduate programme in Education. The college, established in 2006, is affiliated to Delhi University, which is popularly referred to as University of Delhi or DU. Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education (Visual Impairment) is also recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). The college, established by the Blind Relief Association, is named after its mentor Dr Durgabai Deshmukh. The college offers all the modern amenities for the blind students, which would foster their academic growth and at the same time, empower them to become self reliant.
Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education (Visual Impairment) is an unaided college and receives partial grant from National Institute for Physically Handicapped (NIPH) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education (Visual Impairment) works in close association with international and national universities like Jamia Milia Islamia, IGNOU, JRHU Chitrakoot etc. The college also offers consultancy services to various national and international institutions.

Candidates should have passed B.A, B.com or B.sc with at least 50% marks in aggregate. A relaxation of 5% marks for reserved candidates is allowed.

Admission of candidates to the B.Ed (Special Education -Visually Impaired) would be done on the basis of merit in the entrance test conducted as per the guidelines prescribed by the RCI, in conference with the Dean, Faculty of Education, Delhi University.
